Many moons ago, when I first started buying and selling vintage clothes, I first came across, and totally fell in love with, Anokhi dresses and jackets from the 70s. The aptly named Anokhi - Hindi for unique - create the most beautiful textiles, using traditional, centuries old methods of block printing with natural dyes.  I love that Anokhi and others are still helping to keep these ancient traditions alive. Each printed piece is hand crafted by local craftspeople local to Jaipur. Asda Bringing Secondhand Clothing to the Mainstream

Just read the news that, following a trial in Leeds late last year, Asda are to begin selling secondhand clothes in 50 of their stores. This is such an encouraging development as it will go some way to bring used clothes buying out of the fringes and into the mainstream. The more socially acceptable it is to buy secondhand, the better. The more it gets everyone thinking about the impact of textile waste, the better, too. Let's hope this encourages other major players to up their game.
